For a movie buff like me, ZEE5 has come up with another delightful Hindi Family Drama Chintu Ka Birthday. What else one can ask to defeat the lockdown blues. The movie has a perfect balance of emotion, comedy, and thrill. The trailer itself was so appealing that one cannot stop himself/herself to watch the perfect venture of an emotional family drama and a heart-wrenching reality of war.
For me two elements were enough to grab my attention:
1). A middle class drama always wins over anything for me as majority of population including me easily get connected with the plot and characters of the movie.
2). Vinay Pathak is the next reason for me to watch this movie, we have witnessed the excellence in his acting with the tinge of comedy in various movies but here I must say he has raised his own bar by playing the role of a loving father, a caring husband and a responsible man of the house who tries his best to keep the liveliness alive in his family even in the extremely chaotic environment of the country.

Vinay Pathak has done full justice as always with his character. Tillotama Shome has already amazed us with her brilliant acting in several movies like Angrezi Medium, Hindi Medium, recently in web series Mentalhood and many more, honestly, despite the presence of outstanding actors a little boy Vedant Chibber aka Chintu’s gaze look has stolen the show.
It is a story of an innocent 6 years old boy Chintu and his family who illegally came to Iraq and now looking for a way to return back to their own country sadly, got stranded due to sudden war between Iraq-America in 2004 amidst fall of Saddam Hussain. The story begins with Chintu (Vedant Chibber) a 6-year-old boy and his family’s preparations for his birthday celebration. His family members father Madan Tiwari (Vinay Pathak), mother Sudha Tiwari (Tillotama Shome), Chintu’ s grandmother and his elder teenage sister Lakshmi (Bisha Chaturvedi), even his landlord everyone making all the efforts from baking cake to blowing balloons, from decorating home to calling friends just to make Chintu’ s birthday one of the most memorable days of his life. As he could not celebrate it last year also, Madan wanted to bring on double-sized celebration despite knowing the outside scrimmage. As soon as the celebration approached a sudden bang on the door vanished all the excitement and made Madan and his family hostage. The story moves on by witnessing many shades of fear, pain, and pleading of a father to keep his promise before going to jail in spite of not being at fault that he made to his son Chintu.
What happens next? Does Chintu celebrate his birthday? Will Madan become able to save him and his family? To know all the answers, watch the family drama “Chintu Ka Birthday” only on ZEE5.
