As you may have heard, the consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla will be released on January 22nd, to celebrate this here are 10 cool things about the murti.

•It has been made using shaligrams, or even known as shaligram shilas, these rocks are special ammonites (fossilized stones). Shaligrams can only be found on the riverbeds of the Kali Gandaki, a branch of the Gandaki River. These stones are black in color, and are very auspicious in Hindi culture, even believed to bring good luck, prosperity, and blessings to whoever worships it. They are even quite resistant to liquid damage, from water, milk, etc.

•The face of the Ram Lalla has been “leaked” before the consecration ceremony, people dont know if this is a rumor or not, but there are many images of a face on the currently blindfolded Ram Lalla murti. The head priest of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is not happy with this according to many sources.

  1. •The Ram Lalla murti will be on the first of three floors of the Ram Mandir, this location has been chosen because astronomers have deduced that with a special collection of mirrors and positioning, every Ram Navami the new murti will have a surya tilak on its forehead using the sun’s rays around 12 pm.

    •The sculptor of the beautiful idol is, Arun Yogiraj, his previous achievements include the 30-feet statue of Subhash Chandra Bose in New Delhi. The Yogiraj family has a history with sculpting, dating 5 generations back. It took Arun around 6-7 months of extensive work to finish the 51-foot tall Ram Lalla masterpiece.

    •The Idol is filled with hidden information, if you look closely enough, you will spot all 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu, these avatars are smaller and on the outside frame of the Ram Lalla, but it doesn’t stop there, near the base of the idol you will see Lord Hanuman and Lord Garuda the esteemed mount of Lord Vishnu.

    •The Murti is carved out of a single piece of shaligram (black stone).This includes the beautiful lotus flower that the Ram Lalla will be set upon. The finished result of the idol has a weight of around 200kg and a height of 4.24 feet. All in all, it will have a finished height of around 8 feet.

    •The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is very much involved in the religious aspect of the consecration. As per resources he will be applying kajal with a golden needle, and even remove the veil on the idol.

    •The foundations of the Ram Mandir, are made up of soil from around 2600 regions like, Banaras, Jhansi, The Golden Temple, and Chittorgarh. This adds a different level of unity to anyone who comes and worships in this temple, connecting all these beautiful places.

    •The Ram Mandir’s construction used no steel or any type of metal. It was solely erected using stones, which makes sure that it will be standing for a long, long, time. The bricks that were used in the making of the temple had the inscription of “Shri Ram” on them, a reference to the Ramayan, in which the Ram Setu was built in a similar fashion.

    • On January 22nd, 12:20 p.m. the Pran Prathishta program will begin. It is scheduled at this specific time due to the Abhijit Muhurat, the same Muhurat when Ram was born, further adding to the auspiciousness of the event
